DESCRIPTION:Calling performers. \n\nDue to Covid\, we had to postpone our fabulous end of the year Theatre Restaurant show\, Piraticus Rex\, till next year. We have a loyal fan base who still want to come for a great night out and so we are producing a show using local entertainers to fill this end of year spot. This is a brilliant opportunity for talented individuals and groups etc to showcase their talents.\nWe are calling for polished\, entertaining acts to perform for a four night only show. Performers must be available for performance dates 1st-4th December and tech week\, (the week prior).\nThe acts will be chosen from auditions either via on-line entry or audition in person (booked by appointment).\nCome on you local talented people\, we know you haven’t been on stage for awhile so here’s your opportunity.\n\nSend your expression of interest through to secretary@dramaleague.org.nz.

DESCRIPTION:Jason Robert Brown’s Drama Desk winner\, The Last Five Years\, has been translated into a handful of languages and was named one of TIME Magazine’s ten best shows of 2001. A testament to the show’s longevity\, and spurred by the show’s regional popularity\, The Last Five Years enjoyed an Off-Broadway revival at Second Stage in 2013. A film adaptation was released in 2014\, starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan \nAn emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years\, the show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy\, the woman\, telling her story backwards while Jamie\, the man\, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once\, at their wedding in the middle of the show.\n\nCharacters\nCatherine “Cathy” Hiatt\n\n\nVocal Range: Strong mezzo-soprano belter (F3-D#5) \nCharacter arcs from an ambitious\, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship to a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand. \nAge Range: 20-35 \n\nJamie Wellerstein\n\nVocal Range: Strong Tenor (A2-Bb4) \nCharacter arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling career to someone who is blinded by success and ego.
