Ahoy there…
Piraticus Rex – Workshop and audition dates
Listen up lads, to a song that I sing
The head that wears the Crown is no thing
Scattered have I the pieces six
The crown is apart, your quest is to fix
Search high and search low above and below
Find them and bind them and find a new King
An excerpt from the opening page of Aaron Williams script .
Aaron Segar, Director, and Marlene Hanson, Musical Director, in a tribute to the late Aaron Williams and his family, are bringing his work “Piraticus Rex” to the Playhouse in an innovative and comic production. They seek a cast of 30 plus people, ages 16 years and upwards who can sing and act, though experience is not necessary. Characters include Pirates- “Argh Argh me hearties” and Tavern wenches who can “shiver their timbers”. Expressions of interest are also sort from foul mouthed parrots and people with hooks for hands and/or called Long John Silver.
Aarons’ vision is to use every, that is EVERY, space in the Playhouse with the audience being transported to sea, land and even under the ocean.
This is theatre restaurant and a Piratical meal will be served during periods of calm.
“Ho, Ho, Ho and a bottle of rum” etc.
