The Testing Ground

This group meets on the first Monday of the month at the Playhouse to read a chosen play. The play is introduced by one of the group and at the end can be briefly discussed.

On occasions a section may request a certain play be read and at times we have been approached by an aspiring playwright to read his/her work. On the whole though it is a gathering of members who enjoy play reading.

Backstage Story

Life Behind the Scenes

To run a show not only do you need cast but you also need crew. Without the crew the actors and actresses would be running around pulling on and off their own set, doing their own sound and lighting and flying in their own backdrops all while acting. Although this would make for a great show within itself, creating a stage show is a team effort.

Being backstage for a Drama League show is a great way to learn the in’s and out’s of how shows are run, from set building, prop masters, wardrobe to callers there is a role for almost anything you can think of. If you are interested in working backstage for any of our upcoming shows feel free to get in contact with us and don’t worry no experience needed!
