Singing Competition Sign Up

ADJUDICATOR: To be confirmed
VENUE: The Playhouse, Church St, Timaru
ENTRY FEES: $10.00 per person Admin Fee, (Maximum $15 admin fee per family)

$5 per class entered (Duets $5 per person)

ENTRIES DUE: Monday June 4 (Late entries accepted only at the discretion of the conveners)

AGE LIMITS: Age is at date of competition, July 14, 2018.

 

Please ensure that information is legible, with details printed, NOT written.


Music: Sheet Music (No chord charts) copies for the Adjudicator must be handed in 10 minutes before class
commences to the music table: 

 

  1.  Each piece for individual classes must be separated.
  2.  Stapled, left-hand top corner.
  3.  Labelled with the competitor’s name, number and Class No. clearly printed on the front.
  4.  Please ensure that Adjudicator copies are unmarked and without loose pages.

Backing Tracks: If you are using a backing track please ensure this is on a CD, Ipad, Ipod, MP3 player. Music must be handed to the music table 20 minutes before class commences, labelled:

  1.  With competitor’s name, number and Class No. clearly printed on the front.
  2.  Must also have the Song Title, and number on CD labelled.
  3.  Backing Tracks must NOT have backing vocals. This will result in instant disqualification.


ELIGIBILITY OF ENTRANTS: Any entrant who, with the exclusion of Seminars, Summer Schools and Masterclasses has been taught by the Adjudicator at any time during the two year period immediately prior
to the Competitions shall NOT be eligible to compete. The committee shall decide the eligibility of any entry and may decline to accept it. The receiving of any entry in good faith at the Society’s Office does not imply acceptance. Compliance with the conditions relative to any entry is the responsibility of the entrant.

    • Must sing 2 contrasting songs with Piano accompaniment / no microphones

    • Each song must not exceed 4 minutes

    • Must sing 2 contrasting songs with Piano accompaniment / no microphones

    • Each song must not exceed 6 minutes

    Class 502

    OWN COMPOSITION – Open to anyone aged under 18 years
